Dr. Inbal Wortzel named a Zuckerman Faculty Scholar for the academic year 2025!
Dr. Inbal Wortzel is an incoming faculty member in the Department of Human Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry at the Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, Tel Aviv University. She earned her Ph.D. in Biology from the Weizmann Institute of Science. Dr. Wortzel completed her postdoctoral training at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City under the mentorship of Prof. David Lyden, where she investigated the role of extracellular vesicle (EV) DNA in cancer progression. Her research focuses on understanding how tumors communicate with the immune system through EVs, with the goal of identifying novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets for metastatic cancer. During her postdoctoral studies, she was awarded grants from Worldwide Cancer Research and the WCM RAPP program.
