Sackler researchers win ERC grants
Carmit Levy, Inna Slutsky and Dor Salomon win grants from the European Research Council
In 2016 the European Research Council awarded 10 grants to researchers at Tel Aviv University, including three scientists from the Sackler Faculty of Medicine. These prestigious awards encourage high-quality, investigator-driven research on the frontiers of knowledge.
Dr. Dor Salomon received the prestigious ERC Starting Grant, which is awarded to promising researchers with ground-breaking ideas and only 2-7 years of experience since receiving their Ph.D. Dor Salomon is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Clinical Microbiology and Immunology. His ERC-funded project will study and utilize baterial secretion systems to develop novel antibacterial platforms.
Dr. Carmit Levy and Prof. Inna Slutsky both received ERC Consolidator Grants for their research. Consolidator Grants are awarded to talented researchers with 7-12 years of experience after completion of their Ph.D. Camit Levy is at Sackler's Department of Human Molecular Genetics & Biochemisty. Her lab researches the role of microRNAs in development, differentiation and malignant transformation of melanocyte (melanoma). Prof. Inna Slutsky of the Department of Physiology & Pharmacology received funding for her project entitled "Stability and dynamics at different spatial scales: From physiology to Alzheimer's degeneration."
