Prof. Jeff Hausdorff Appointed to the Prestigious Igor Orenstein Chair for the Study of Geriatrics

Prof. Jeff Hausdorff earned degrees in biomechanics and biomedical engineering from The Cooper Union, MIT, and Boston University. After postdoctoral training in gerontology at Harvard Medical School, he joined the faculty as an instructor and later became an Assistant Professor there. He has directed a center that researches gait, cognition, and mobility at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center for the past 24 years and has been a professor in the Department of Physical Therapy in the Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences at Tel Aviv University since 2002. His team focuses on understanding, ameliorating, and preventing deficits in gait and cognitive function due to aging and neurological diseases, ultimately aiming to reduce fall risk, enhance cognitive function, and improve the health-related quality of life for older adults and individuals with neurological conditions. Prof. Hausdorff has authored over 400 peer-reviewed publications, with an H-index above 130 and over 95,000 citations.
