Prof. Lihi Adler-Abramovich & Prof. Maayan Gal Awarded SPARK Funding for Drug Repurposing Research

SPARK TEL AVIV (http://spark-telaviv.tau.ac.il/) announced that the finalist project was chosen for their REPURPOSING OF EXISTING DRUGS Track aimed for new indications that are outside the scope of the original medical indication.  

The project was carefully selected by the SPARK evaluation committee composed of leading experts from the medical community and academy to receive mentoring and a milestone based-funding for 2 years, for $100,000/year (the 2nd year funding is dependent on the achievement of the 1st year): Prof. Lihi Adler- Abramovich, School of Dental Medicine, Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences, Tel Aviv University, Prof. Maayan Gal, School of Dental Medicine, Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences, Tel Aviv University, Prof. Josef Haik, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and the Intensive Care Burn Unit, Sheba Medical Center, Dr. Ayelet DiSegni, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and the Intensive Care Burn Unit, Sheba Medical Center, for the proposal entitled: “Harnessing drug repurposing for burn treatment: Optimizing cultured epidermal autografts through HIF-mediated collagen enhancement”
