Dr. Stephen H. Lazar Awarded 2024 President’s Medal by Tel Aviv University
Honoring a Lifetime of Medical Education Leadership
Dr. Stephen H. Lazar, PhD, received Tel Aviv University’s highest honor - the 2024 President’s Medal. The president of @Tel Aviv University, Professor Ariel Porat, acknowledged Dr. Lazar’s contribution to medical education, his commitment to excellence, and his legacy as he impacted the lives of more than 12,000 medical practitioners. The ceremony took place American Friends of Tel Aviv University (AFTAU) in New York City. Dr. Lazar was the Dean of Students for 43 years at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, from 1968-2010. He served as a volunteer at the American Medical School Program at Tel Aviv University from 1976 to 2010. He then served as Executive Dean and Chief Operating Officer at the American Medical School Program from 2010-2023. Dr. Lazar currently lives in New York with his wife, Dr. Marlene Lazar. He has two children and three grandchildren.
