The Department of Nursing Science Climbs in the Shanghai Ranking
The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), also known as the Shanghai Ranking—which is considered one of the most prestigious and influential global university rankings by field—has published its 2024 rankings.
This year, the Department of Nursing Sciences at the Gray Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences has risen to the 101–150 range in the global ranking for the field of Nursing, compared to last year when it was ranked in the 151–200 range. This reinforces the department’s continued status as the leading nursing program in Israel according to the Shanghai Ranking.
The Shanghai Ranking (ARWU) is published by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and is regarded as an independent, research-based ranking. It currently ranks over 1,800 institutions in 55 different fields of knowledge. The ranking assesses the quality and impact of academic research based on criteria such as publication in leading journals, the number of highly cited studies in the field, and international research collaborations.
Prof. Michal Itzhaki, Head of the Department of Nursing Sciences, stated:
“This ranking reflects the significant investment and outstanding achievements of our faculty, researchers, and students in advancing both research and clinical excellence. We are proud to lead the field of Nursing Sciences in Israel on the global academic stage.”
Warm congratulations to our faculty members and students on this impressive achievement.
